Vic Firth CORPSMASTER Signature Series Marching Sticks

Vic Firth Definition

Tom Aungst
A long, "reverse tear drop" tip and moderately long taper. Rebounds with ease and bold sound.

Lee Beddis
Medium tear drop tip and short taper for clarity and projection.

Jim Casella
Very long taper for quick rebound and smooth action.  Tip produces a full, yet crisp snare sound.

Dennis Delucia Original
In Sta-Pac for maximum strength and density.  Plays "through" Kevlar heads for maximum snare and batter head response.

Tom Float
A full tear drop tip and medium taper combine for durabilitiy and speed.

Thom Hannum Original
A round tip with a very long taper and thick neck for great control and response, especially at low dynamic levels.

Ralph Hardimon
With a unique barrel tip and long taper for quick rebound and added control.

Scott Johnson
A medium taper and full round tip enhance the colors that are possible on Kevlar heads.

Scott Johnson "Scooters" Indoor
This "half-tip" stick creates a quick drum head response and has the feel of a full-sized stick while reducing the volume of sound.  Smooth opaque stain finish.

Critique  (From Experience)

Tom Aungst
A very long and manly stick.  (L = 17")  Truly lets you feel each stroke in your hand.  Seems slighty hollow, but good articulation.

Lee Beddis
Long and solid stick.  (L = 17")  Awkward choice of stick to march.  Odd balance of weight.

Jim Casella
Truly long taper that flows straight into the tip of the stick.  Seems like a longer stick than any other, but still is only 17".  Promotes Moeller behavior in the hands.

Dennis Delucia Original
Solid stick.  Great roll quality.  Shorter than many other sticks.  (L = 16 5/8) Great for chop sessions.

Tom Float
Light and articulate.  An all around stick.  (L = 16 7/8)

Thom Hannum Original
Short stick.  (L = 16 5/8).  Very top heavy because of thick neck.

Ralph Hardimon
Great beginner stick.  Many experienced players return to these for their speed.  (L = 17")

Scott Johnson
Long and solid choice of stick.  Seem like a more beefy version of the Ralph Hardimons.

Scott Johnson "Scooters" Indoor
The half tip (for reduced sound) sticks look vicious but actually have a very soft feel on the drum.
